Service Project- Saddleback Irvine North

       For my cross cultural engagement project, I spoke and volunteered for one morning at a primarily Asian church in Irvine. The name of the church was Saddleback Irvine North. I spoke at the youth group to the Junior High and High School students. I wanted to experience and serve at a church from a different cultural context, while gaining some further youth ministry experience. I spoke specifically on how to stretch our faith and trust muscles and applied to both their experience as students, while observing and speaking into their own cultural context.

GROWTH POINTS

1. Personal growth in ministry to others- Learned how to read, learn, and speak into a cultural context different then my own

 

2. Relationship to God- Further appreciated the beauty in diversity and culture and how Jesus is Lord in all cultures.

 

3. Intrapersonal growth- Sharpened speaking and interpersonal skills
